Since my daughter is already in piano, maybe I need to get my son into violin. Then, when I'm old and gray they can come play this to me ... and all the other songs I know. I can see it now, I'll be senile and when they play this song, I'll think I'm on a quest and I can't get through the cave until I get a candle. I'll also run through the nursing home yelling about the size of my rupee sack.

Wonder, Plunder, Pish-Posh!

Sometimes I wonder. I'm sure everyone wonders, but sometimes I wonder if other people wonder in such different ways than me so as to make me look strange, making them look normal.

Lately I wonder if I would be able to let my kids actually grow up. I'm still in the mode where all those "adult content" things should and will never be seen by them. I'm not talking about the really grown up stuff. Just normal things like "kissing in bed"...EEEK! And since I see my own kids as not knowing those things, I think that all kids that dont say they know those things, actually dont know those things.

Now I'm beginning to wonder. Wonder when I have to have that "talk". Wonder when I have to worry about accidentally walking in on something I don't want to see!! AAAck!!

And I still treat them like little kids. Asking them if they need to use the restroom (I have switched from saying potty). Telling them not to do this or that cause they could get hurt, which, sure, sounds like a good rule of thumb. But I wonder if by not letting them scratch themselves up with a minor boo-boo prevents them from learning the limits of their own bodies. I wonder if it keeps them from being a "kid".

I'm beginning to wonder if wondering is worry's cousin or its reflection in the mirror. And then I know that I'm normal, for now.

Birthday Report

I was writing a report of my birthday fun to a friend, and I thought to myself, why not let EVERYONE know??! Lucky you! I have listed the topic of this report below.

What kinds of fun Mexican Tijuana things did you do?

Um, we did the usual. Knocked over a liquor store on the east side and teased the old people in the park with fake social security checks with exorbitant monetary amounts on them.

So, really, the gymnastics place the kids go to had a parents nite out, so we dropped them off there and got cheese steaks at food court. You're wondering, did she get a Cinnabon? Oh yes. I did. It was my birthday Cinnabon. I haven't had one of those in YEARS. It was awesome. I couldn't finish it. Hubby got the namby pamby mini-cinnabons. Then I got the new animal crossing game and we went to the bookstore. Got Angels and Demons by that dude that did the davinci code. Dan Brown, I think. I WANTED to get the next Sapkowksi book, but it wasn't there! How long does it take to translate from polish, or german, or whatever he speaks! I'll just have to pre-order from Amazon. Finally, we went to Walgreens to get more sleepy time meds for our son and Mr. Slgraffoo tried to buy cloud water. He's too good for normal water, I guess.

Then on saturday, I played video games and went out to tony romas for dinner. I had 2 mojitos and got all weird. It was fun!

Sunday I dragged my happy azz to the Publix and spent too much on Thanksgiving groceries. The kids decorated gingerbread men and drank hot chocolate. The gingerbread men ended up wearing "bras" made of mini marshmallows. Yes! I got a picture! I just don't have it on the computer yet.

I then proceeded to crash on the couch and try to make up lost work hours last week. Mucho Funno!

I now know of a new purpose to using the internets. Its for spreading the news that it's my birthday.

Now I don't have to go into businesses (banks, credit unions, specifically) and write it on their lobby calendar. Like when I was a kid.

Saying Things

I have little to say, and I don't think there is anyone to listen anyways. I just wanted to see a new post on my blog when I click on it. This way, I don't feel bad that I haven't blogged about anything. I always have a list that is too long and the things I accomplish never end up on a list.

...sigh....

MAYBE...I'll publish my to-do list!

Make list of stuff to get from the store for thanksgiving dinner.
Call dad to tell him when we are going to dinner for my birthday.
Get catfood.
Make list of who is getting ornaments of the kids this year.
Make christmas card list, so I can make labels for the cards.
Finish cleaning out the front room.
Take pictures of the furniture I am getting rid of so we can sell it or give it away.

What I will get done...

Work
Pick up the kids
Take the kids to gymnastics.
Remember to call dad when I am in the car, and try to remember later when I am not driving cause my dad and step mom don't like me to call on my cell while I'm driving.
Remember to get cat food, but not feel like taking the kids into the store. So I will think about calling up the hubby and ask if he can get cat food on the way home. Then I will just suck it up and drag the kids in anyways.
Make dinner.
Check homework, send the kids to the shower, verify they brushed their teeth and then make them go brush them FOR REAL THIS TIME.
Read a small book to the kids.
I'll look at the room in the front and think about all the work I need to get done because I got into work late again today instead. Then I will open up the laptop and start to work and possibly get distracted by facebook and maintaining the list of things to do.
End up watching tv with the laptop open. Eventually the laptop will go to sleep, I'll be too tired, and mosey on to bed.

Bebe Rattlesnakes

I had the strangest dream last night. Ok, not the stranges I've ever had, but still strange.

I was walking out of a kitchen, into a garage. It might have been one from a house I lived in while growing up, as we lived in A LOT of different houses. The first time I go out there, my son is walking with me and a baby rattlesnake is on a washing machine and tries to bite him. I (amazingly) grabbed or blocked the snake and the situation was averted. I don't remember if I killed it or not, but it was somehow permanently gone.

Then I was going out again, and another baby rattlesnake jumps off the washing machine and bites my right hand between my thumb and index finger. I quickly grabbed it, pulled it off, and started looking for something to beat it with . I remember finding a spatula. It was dirty with dried eggs too, like when you put it in the dishwasher and it doesn't come out clean. What it's doing in the garage, I have no idea. The garage is kind of cluttered, so maybe thats why.

So, then I start smacking the snake with the spatula until it stops moving. Nothing gory or anything. Then I put it into a "ziploc" bag so I could take it with me to the hospital. Oddly, my dad was there (odd cause it wasn't his house) and reaffirmed that I needed to go to the hospital and get it checked out because baby rattlesnakes are sometimes or typicaly more poisonous than the adults. I remember thinking I should clean it up first and wrap it as I assumed I would wait in the ER for a while.

I'm not particularly scared of snakes, but I also won't go picking them up. When they are outside, I leave them be. I'm certainly NOT the snake-wrestling type!!

A new blog, a new day. Of course its a new day. Isn't every day? Isn't every moment a newer piece of day than the previous?

I'm not sure how this blog is going to turn out. I'm geeky and probably not interesting, but I think many of my friends probably think they are the same way. Plus, if the inner workings of my head scare me, I'm sure its bound to frighten others.

So, I suppose if I had a message right now, at this very moment, it might be that I want you to know that I entirely expect for folks to come here and be completely disinterested in the organization of these words. I don't profess to be a great writer or thinker and definitely no comedian, even if I have a few moments of funny. I don't think I am so very important that others will flock here in crowds and drones to read what I'm doing. I'm also not here to promote any thing that I don't actually believe in. I'm not here to sell stuff. Not here to impress. Perhaps I am my only reader and that is who I am ultimately writing for.

Why then am I being so public with what I say to myself. Cause maybe there IS someone who can relate to the weirdness I live in. But, since I am not omniscient, I don't know if anyone else fits that category. So, I write with myself in mind.
